Nobuhiko Murayama is a Japanese artist based in Berlin since 2010.
His work sets the conditions for an image to arrive. An image is not given on the surface; it passes through distance, membrane, support, and site, taking place in the present rather than remaining a fixed record.
Working from specific places, movements, and situations, Murayama creates works in which the moment of photography, the site of exhibition, and different presents meet without becoming one.
